Ride Info & Routes

The Vineyards at California Armenian Home: Located on 6720 E. Kings Canyon Rd. Fresno, CA 93727 is the START / FINISH Point for 2020, the 12th annual Tour de Fresno Charity Ride. 

Directions:

From North: South on 99 to 180 East. Exit on Temperance Avenue and make a right turn. Go to Kings Canyon Rd. (first signal) and turn right (west).  Drive ¼ mile and turn right onto the California Armenian Home driveway.  Parking is within the complex. Directions will be posted.

From Central Freson: South on 41 onto 180 East. Exit on Temperance Avenue and make a right turn. Go to Kings Canyon Rd. (first signal) and turn right (west).  Drive ¼ mile and turn right onto the California Armenian Home driveway.  Parking is within the complex. Directions will be posted.

From Clovis: South on Temperance Avenue to Kings Canyon Rd. Turn right (west).  Drive ¼ mile and turn right onto the California Armenian Home driveway.  Alternative Options:  South on Fowler or Clovis Ave. to Kings Canyon Rd.  Turn Left on Kings Canyon Rd. go to 6720 E. Kings Canyon. Turn left onto the California Armenian Home driveway.  Parking is within the complex. Directions will be posted.

From South: North on 99 to 41 north and onto 180 East. On 180 Exit on Temperance Avenue and make a right turn. Go to Kings Canyon Rd. From Central Coast: Take 41 North onto 180 East. On 180 Exit on Temperance Avenue and make turn right onto Temperance. Go to Kings Canyon Rd. (first signal) and turn right (west).  Drive ¼ mile and turn right onto the California Armenian Home driveway.  Parking is within the complex. Directions will be posted.

Friday September 18, 2020 PM:

  • 6:00 PM optional Pasta Dinner – MUST preregister
  • Registration Package Pick up (You may also pick up earlier at our office as instructed when registered)
  • Observe the process of placing the pigs in the earth deep fire pits for slow cooking for Saturday night meal.
  • Entertainment, Music and Dance
  • Beer, Wine garden and other Foods – extra charges apply, not included in registration fee.

Saturday, September 19, 2020 AM

Starting Line:

Park your car as directed and take your bike to check in desk near the Starting Line.

The riders will gather around the Flag poles – near the new entry.

5:30 am – Home Grounds: Coffee and morning snacks

5:30 am – 6:30 am Later Registration and check in

6:30 am – Crashing of freshly harvest grapes in ancient traditional way for preparing ROOB (pronounced as in sy-rub) grape molasses

6:50 am – Gather near the entrance / prepare for the ride

7:00 am – Start of the Century, Metric Century, Six Cities Rides

8:30 am – Start of Family  Ride

11:00 am – 3:00 pm End of Ride Gourmet Chicken / Shish Kebab Lunch Rice Pilaf and Salad served – included in registration fee.

  • Music, Entertainment, Dance and Socialize at the Shaded Grounds
  • Observe making of the ROOB – grape molasses on an open fire
  • Beer and Wine Garden.  Extra charges apply, not included in the registration fee.

Saturday, September 19, 2020 PM  3:00 pm – Midnight

  • Local Boy Scouts and youth group members carrying the slow cooked meals on pedestals for evening serving
  • A mock traditional wedding celebration presented by a Los Angeles based performing group will follow prior to the foam -PRPOOR reaches its climax at 8:30pm. 
  • Entertainment, Music and Dance.
  • Option to taste freshly made grape molasses – ROOB
  • Food and drinks will be available all night long. – extra charges apply, not included in registration fee.
  • Beer and Wine Garden available – extra charges apply, not included in registration fee.

Guided Tour of The Vineyards and hospitality:

  • Optional Tour guide offered every 30 minutes starting form 11:00 am till 3:30pm.
  • Explore the new Complex which is open to all that provides the following services:
  • a- Independent Living,
  • b- Assistant Living,
  • c- Memory Care (for our loved ones suffering from Alzheimer and Dementia) and
  • d- Skilled Nursing.   
  • 4:00 pm – End

RIDE Safety INSTRUCTIONS

Please obey traffic rules and regulations:  The California Highway Patrol, Fresno County Police Officers, Fresno County Sheriff’s Department and all other City Police Departments are informed of the routes who may be monitoring traffic at key intersections. Be sure to follow all traffic laws.

  • No personal support vehicles
  • Trike bikes are prohibited
  • It is forbidden by law to block both ears with headphones, Ipod buds, etc.
  • Port-A-Potties are provided for your use at all rest stops
  • Helmets must be worn at all times while on the course
  • Please ride single file
  • Two water bottles, a tube, patch kit, tire levers, and an inflation tool are recommended

Note: Unsafe riders may be removed from the course.

Pacelines: If you ride in a paceline, please announce “on your left” when passing other riders. Pass slower riders with at least three feet of clearance.
